The Bored Jar

Every week, Child Care Resources will publish The Bored Jar blog, which will provide you with ideas of activities to do with the children in your care. We know that much of the correspondence we send has to do with rules and regulations, but The Bored Jar will only be filled with fun activities. Whenever you’re bored with your kids, try some of our Bored Jar ideas!

Recycling Old Crayons

If you have old crayons lying around, here is a great way to make use of them again. First, you should peel all of the labels off the crayons. Then, place the peeled crayons into muffin tins according to color. Next, place in a 200˚ F Oven for 15 minutes or until they are fully melted. Once melted, let cool. When they are cool to touch, set them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. When the 15 minutes is up, smack the muffin tin on the counter to pop the transformed crayons out.
