Each month, Child Care Resources publishes the Child Care News newsletter. Each edition will share information from one of our departments, and any pertinent or time sensitive information.
In recent months, Montana’s Early Childhood Services Bureau elected to centralize the child care referral program. While Child Care Resources still maintains a caseload of Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship families, we no longer conduct referrals to help families find child care in our region. Instead, Child Care Solutions MT in Great Falls will conduct all referrals for the state.
The referral program will still provide the same services to families seeking child care. Child Care Resources has a parent workstation available when families come to our office for a referral. They can access Child Care Solution MT’s website and request a referral. Families seeking a referral may also call 855.406.CARE (2273).
Therefore, it is still important for child care providers to keep their facility information up to date. Child Care Solutions MT is responsible for updating the referral database. They will send Provider Information Forms to all Montana providers on an annual basis to gather information, just as Child Care Resources used to do.
In order to ensure proper payment for scholarship families, it is essential that providers provide copies of their contracts to indicate whether they charge for absent days and holidays. Rate changes must also be reported to Child Care Solutions MT, in advance of the change. Rate changes cannot be backdated.
Child care providers must have a current, signed copy of the Provider’s Rights and Responsibilities on file with Child Care Solutions MT to be eligible to receive payment for scholarship families.
