Child and Adult Care Food Program

Williams_Little_girl_sandwich_340Child Care Resources is proud to be a sponsor of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which educates providers to develop healthy menus, and partially reimburses them for the cost of nutritious meals.

Joining the CACFP

Joining the CACFP is simple. If you are a family or group home child care provider, contact the Food Program at Child Care Resources. They will set up an appointment to visit your facility and help you complete the paperwork. You will also receive resources on providing nutritious meals in the CACFP, which include healthy recipes to prepare for the children in your care. These recipes can be very helpful when planning your weekly menus, though it is not mandatory that they be used – we just want to make it as easy as we can for you! The best part is that you can begin claiming meals for reimbursements that same day without a waiting or processing period.

If you are a provider of a child care center and are interested in enrolling in the CACFP, please visit the Montana CACFP.

Let’s Move!

Thanks to a grant through the United Way in Missoula, any participant of the Child Care Resources Food Program can also receive fun filled activity visits and supplies to keep your child care moving! Contact Claudette Barber for more information.

Free Training

Providers participating in the CACFP receive four hours of free professional development, which count toward the state’s yearly training requirement.
